Zahid Chowdhry graduated from Guys’ and St. Thomas’s dental hospitals in 2001. Since then, he has been in general practice serving the community with a high level of dentistry. He has also been involved in teaching dentists and so has maintained a high level of skill as well as being up to date with cutting edge dental techniques.
In 2009 he was awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the University of Central Lancashire and he has been providing dental implants since. Due to his success and high standards of work, he is now the lead implantologist in a number of surgeries around the country.

He then gained extensive experience in Hospital based Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and sedation techniques (sleep dentistry) during which time he completed his Membership exams with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Azhar has over 20 years of experience in placing and restoring Dental Implants as well as Oral surgery under sedation. He was the Clinical Lead for a specialist oral surgery referral based practice for 18 yrs and is a visiting Implant Surgeon for many corporate dental practices.

Includes prep hygiene work and implant placement, possibly bone or soft tissue grafts also. Once the implant is placed, there is a healing period which differs for each patient. Once the implant has healed the final stage is to have the prosthetic crown or bridge fixed to the implant.

Am I suitable for Dental Implants?
Your suitability for dental implants will depend on a number of factors. During your initial consultation, your dentist will ask questions about your lifestyle to determine if you are suitable. Your dentist will also consult Xrays and scans of your jaw bone to determine if you can have dental implants.
How long will the implants last?
This all depends on how well you care for your dental implants. The implant can last a lifetime if you maintain it with brushing, flossing and regular trips to the dentist. The crown portion of the restoration may need to be replaced after 10-15 years, but with good oral hygiene, this could also be extended beyond 15 years.
How much do dental implants cost?
Dental implants vary in price depending on the complexity of the procedure. Our dental implants start at £2500 for a single implant which is £500 lower than Highgate average implant prices.
Will I need an implant for each missing tooth?
This will depend on the placement in your mouth. An implant can replace a single missing tooth or two implants can be used to support a bridge for up to 6 adjacent teeth. If you are replacing your dentures, you will need 4 implants for each arch.
